They say that laughter is the best medicine, and it has this doc’s seal of approval.
I began another day fatigued, but felt my spirits and energy levels rise when I got into the shower this morning.
My conversation with the three year old went like this,
“Get in the shower my little flower”
To which he promptly replied,
“I not a flower, I a DOCTOR” with such gravitas that I completely believed him.
This carried me through to my drive to work where I again attempted to dictate my latest work in progress.
Once I figure out how to use the headphones, it went swimmingly well. Upon reviewing the typed version however, it was crystal clear that I would need a fair amount of revision to make it comprehensible.
And then work, driving, work.
I battled the demons of illness and disease while my left eye twitched uncontrollably all morning from a combination of caffeine and sleep deprivation.
I patted some backs and zapped some warts, gave a shoulder and laughed at cheesy jokes.
By the end of the day, it felt as though I’d accomplished a lot. It may have been an ordinary day, but the laughter at the beginning carried me through, adding colour to an otherwise grey and rainy day.
