The job

Fact:

Everyone must work to enjoy life.

Or is it a fact?

Is it work to wake up and do something that you love everyday?

Surrounded by people you care about?

Is it work to be honoured to play a small part in the lives of those around you?

To share moments discussing weather and politics, or personal triumphs and defeats?

To have a warm place and smiling faces to show up for? Who look forward to seeing you each day?

Is it work to enjoy writing it down at the end of the day, in a jumble of thoughts and impressions, cleansing the brain’s palate with the sherbet of time and introspection.

A wise man once told me,

“find a job you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life”

And while I can’t say my week has never felt like work before, I can say most days,

It feels like home.
