Saturday is a day that can swing either way- deliciously relaxing or jam-packed full.
Today mixed the two into a slurpy, almost as though when drinking a refreshing and delicious drink, when I’ve accidentally sucked all the flavour out and I’m left with only the sad, tasteless memories of my previously amazing beverage.
While today was by no means sad, it toploaded the fun the same way as a slurpy.
I finally got around to a haircut, then went to see Deadpool 2 with my husband and ate copious amounts of popcorn,
And then we returned home, to laundry, dishes, yard work and kids.
All of these things are fine and normal, but reality intruded on the lingering memory of the fun we’d had earlier, and somehow I remained vaguely disappointed.
Maybe because I enjoyed the movie so much, or maybe I’m just getting bored with laundry.
Or maybe it’s because I dropped all the marbles from our Chinese checkers on the floor and spent an hour trying to find them, coming up one short.
But tomorrow will be another sunny day I hope, and we plan on going to the lake with the kid’s bikes in tow.
I’m already looking forward to the abscence of laundry and plenty of sunshine.

I can so relate! We packed up yesterday. Headed to a park that offered a mini hike to a creek. When we got home, it was rush … dishes, dinner, run to the store for things we need for dinner. Thank God for fresh slurpees in each day of His new mercies. Looking forward to hearing about your lake day💕
Thank you! The sun is shining and I’m looking forward to a glorious family day! Enjoy the slurpees of life ❤️
