Moments

Today, I’m in my happy bubble.

A lovely breakfast out with my little man and an old friend from my twenties, conversation and reminiscing, with a side of little boy snuggles.

He helped me shop for groceries, putting shiny and colourful object after object into the cart, which I carefully removed when he wasn’t watching.

We returned home just in time to catch up with friends from the last place we lived, enjoying smokies and a sunny day while our children ran around the yard.

I thought back to the time when it would have been us running around late at night, and shook my head. My, how times have changed, and yet, the conversation was just as good.

The minute everyone left, my tiny Titan curled up on my lap and promptly fell asleep, tired out from our day’s adventure.

As I felt his warm little body relax into sleep my heart burst with love.

These are the moments that make life so fulfilling. Like a bubble blown from soap, they are iridescent and fleeting.

But these memories will last long after time has passed, more akin to the glass blown by a Venetian master, which will add beauty to my life for years to come.
