To where does the daylight disappear?
Once it was quite bright,
But now twilight is near
And onward approaches the night
Once I was youthful,
Full of crazy dreams
Life was fresh and truthful
Now it’s ripped at the seams
I rub my eyes to try to clear
my dim and foggy eyesight,
Knowing there’s nothing to fear
From the return of the night
A dark blanket cover,
As warm and soft as silk
Wraps me like a lover,
I drift away on stars dipped in milk
