A talisman of sorts
It helps to steer my day
Telling me what to do
Each time I drift away
I think myself immune
But realize I’m very wrong
When I find myself glance over,
The urge is just too strong
It’s such a little object
To have such an intense draw
But it’s sway is overwhelming
Until I get to my last straw
That’s it, I’m done, it’s over
I refuse to play this game
I promise to put it away
At least, until it calls my name…
