I bought my children a book yesterday.
I’ve been trying to get my seven year old
interested in reading all year
when I magically lucked into the dog man series.
These books are hardcover and colourful,
masquerading as cartoons written by small boys.
But in reality,
they are words on paper that all three of them
are eating up.
We read three chapters a night,
one for each of them,
they actually listen,
even if the tv is on behind them.
I track the words with my finger,
watching with glee as they follow along.
I caught the oldest reading
and rereading
the first one we bought,
when it wasn’t even story time.
And today,
she pointed out that we didn’t have book 1 in the series, and we should really get that one as well.
I sent a joyful thanks to Dogman,
Promising to buy that one next,
as soon as I could.
I can’t wait to snuggle
while we all read books together.
This mother’s dream come true.

Yay for Dogman! Just went to the library with my boys yesterday. That was our first time this summer. The time was right.
That’s awesome! I love reading so much and have been waiting impatiently for this day! Glad you were able to add the library to summer 🙂
