Today was an exercise in extremes.
I spent the morning solitary,
Writing to my hearts content.
In my head,
on my own,
the freedom of my thoughts
Uninterrupted
Then noon struck,
And Cinderella returned from the ball
In order to deplete the wild energy
of my young,
I ran them hard at the Telus spark centre.
Up and down the pirate ship,
Through the heart of a whale
And taught them
how to make an exciting fire
Then home again, home again,
Jiggity-jig
With food and stories,
And one more thing, mommy
I breathed a sigh of relief
When bedtime came
And prayed that tomorrow
Would be more of the same
