I think we all want to make our mark on the world. For some people, it’s about accomplishing grand things, making a lot of money, having huge buildings with their names on them
Achievement means being important and recognized, famous for something.
Some people will go to any lengths to do this. They’ll sell their grandmother, betray a friend, let down everyone in pursuit of their goals.
But for most people, it isn’t the recognition of the world we want, it’s the joy of creation itself, pride in accomplishment. Having a few people appreciate what we’ve done.
To create something is different for each of us. I create worlds in my head while others can make beautiful art, or photography, or dance. Some fabricate music that makes me cry it’s so beautiful, while others create new ideas that move us forward,
and still others have the ability to create a safe space for those around them.
The feeling I get when I enter into that space of construction is difficult to express, but I feel more myself there than anywhere else. I feel alive and vibrant, and inside that place I can move mountains with my thoughts.
In only a few short months, I’ve been practicing, building the muscles of creativity.
I have learned from others around me, and learned from myself. I’m still becoming what I want to be.
Creation happens in many different forms, but the one thing it has, always,
is that the work multiplies the outcome. You always come away with more than just the tangible reward.
To create is to grow into the person you want to be, to finally become yourself,
Grow past your perceived endpoint,
Endlessly
